Over the 2013-2014 campaign, Coach Meredith Razzolini worked with the Varsity 4+s and laid down the foundation for a newly reorganized and more robust Novice Rowing Program. The first novice class of this iteration began at UM in the Fall of 2014. Coach Razzolini, with head coach Dave Sanderson’s full support, is building a Novice program that will be competitive, balanced with UM’s rigourous academics, and focused on the true athlete who wants to excel at Division I rowing.
Prior to working for head coach Dave Sanderson, Razzolini worked exclusively with UM’s Varsity 4+s over the 2012-2013 season. When she initally joined Miami as a varsity assistant coach in 2011, Razzolini took on the dual-role of operations coordinator and Varsity 1st Assistant. "Coach Razz" worked with the 2V8+, bringing her experience from her own collegiate racing and post-collegiate internships.
Prior to joining UM, Razzolini completed an internship with The Orange Bowl Committee. Razzolini moved through the highly selective interview and matching process of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Futures Internship Program. Over a ten-month appointment with The Orange Bowl, Razzolini moved through many internal offices and departments. Her leadership and organizational skills were well-utlized in the arena of sports and football to promote sportsmanship and community service in the South Florida area.
The Roswell, Ga., native is a 2010 graduate of Clemson University, where she was a varsity coxswain for three seasons and the top freshman 8 coxswain before that. Most notably, Razzolini led the Clemson Varsity 4+ to a first-place finish at the 2009 ACC Conference Championship. Three weeks later, Razzolini repeated the performance with a win in the Varsity 4+ event of the NCAA Division I National Championship Regatta. This win was the first national championship in Clemson rowing history. Razzolini also appeared in the Varsity 4+ event of the 2010 NCAA Women’s Rowing National Championship.
At Clemson, Razzolini earned three consecutive ACC All-Academic honors. Razzolini and her NCAA Championship 4+ were named Clemson University's 2009 “IPTAY” Student Athlete of the Year. For her hard work and performance on and off the water, Razzolini was awarded four consecutive varsity letters.
Coach Razzolini is also a member of USRowing and The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
Personally, Razzolini enjoys the outdoor lifestyle afforded to her in the beautiful City of Miami. She is pursuing her MS Ed. in Mental Health Counseling at The U.
