CORAL GABLES, Fla. - ACC regular-season and tournament champion Miami Hurricanes earned the No. 2 seed in the East Region in the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. Miami is making its seventh NCAA tournament appearance in program history and only the sixth in the modern tournament era.

Miami's No. 2 seed is tied for the highest in program history. The Canes were a No. 2 seed in the East Region of the 1999 NCAA Championship. It's only the third time in program history that the Canes are rated higher than a No. 6 seed (1999 - No. 2, 2002 - No. 6 and 2013 - No. 2).

Miami (27-6) will face No. 15 Pacific (22-12), the automatic qualifier from the Big West Conference, on Friday at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Tipoff is set for 2:10 p.m. on TNT. Should the Canes win, they will face the winner of No. 7 Illinois and No. 10 Colorado on Sunday at the same venue.
