Was the opening day starter for the Hurricanes in the 2002 season-opener vs. Tennessee (2/1)...had previously missed the 2001 season and the majority of 2000 after elbow surgery...despite not playing in 2001, the Texas Rangers selected him in the 28th round last season...was previously drafted out of King's Academy by the Baltimore Orioles in the 32nd round in 1999...recently earned his degree in Liberal Arts on 5/10...has been limited in the number of innings pitched per start in 2002...missed parts of March and nearly all of April resting his throwing arm...has pitched in every spot in the rotation this season...has junior athletic eligibility due to a medical redshirt...has earned two College World Series titles with the Hurricanes.

Began the season as the No. 2 starter...made five starts in seven total appearances...had a 1.88 ERA and a 2-0 record...in 24.0 innings pitched, allowed 18 hits, five earned runs, four walks with 25 strikeouts...took a no-decision in his first career start against Clemson, allowing one hit in 5.0 innings with five strikeouts and zero walks...earned his first win of the season against Florida allowing four hits, no runs, no walks and six strikeouts...left the game at Florida with an injury after 3.1 innings pitched...came back in early March with 1.0 innings against C.W. Post...pitched 4.0 innings against Iona with four hits, one earned run and four strikeouts...in his final appearance of the season against Northwestern on March 22, allowed four hits, one unearned run, two walks and a season-best seven strikeouts.

As a Freshman in 1999
Saw 21.1 innings of work over 15 appearances... recorded a 1-1 record with a 4.64 ERA...allowed 26 hits and 12 walks...struck out 26 batters...fourth among pitchers with 15 appearances in relief... made his first collegiate appearance against FIU...struck out two and gave up one hit in 1.1 innings against FIU...held James Madison scoreless with two strikeouts in 1.0 innings of relief...in a season-long 2.2 innings of work against N.C. State, struck out three and gave up just one run...in his second appearance against FSU, earned his first collegiate win... had a career-best four strikeouts against Winthrop over 2.0 innings of relief...made his final regular season appearance against Long Beach State.

Coached by Wayne Sewell... four-year letterman. Senior Year, 1998: Sun Sentinel and Palm Beach Post first-team All-Area... Sun Sentinel High School Player of the Year...first-team All-State selection...pre-season All-American by Collegiate Baseball...went 9-1 with a 1.17 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched...hit .451 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI...registered 17 stolen bases and 47 runs scored...team advanced to regional finals of state tournament. Sophomore Year, 1996: Sun Sentinel and Palm Beach Post first-team All-Area...went 4-4 with a 2.21 ERA and 29 strikeouts...hit .337 with five homers... threw 16 strikeouts in five inning game vs. Moorehaven striking out every batter he faced including one extra batter due to a dropped third strike...won Gold Medal as member of U.S National Team along with fellow Hurricane freshman Marcus Nettles in the Pan Am games... was the winning pitcher in the Gold Medal game throwing complete game allowing one earned run and striking out seven in a 9-2 win over Brazil.
