DJ Hernandez was hired as an offensive graduate assistant after serving as the quarterbacks coach at Brown University in 2011. Hernandez assists in all offensive efforts, but spends much of his time coaching the wide receivers and assisting wide receivers coach George McDonald.
Before his time at Brown, Hernandez was the head coach at Southington High School (Conn.) from May 2010 to April 2011. Hernandez has also served in a variety of capacities as a player and coach for The Carinthian Black Lions (Klagenfurt, Austria).
Hernandez was a two-year captain for the University of Connecticut where he played quarterback and receiver from 2004-09. During his time at UConn, Hernandez earned his bachelor's degree in 2008 from UConn in human development and family studies (2008) and his master's degree in 2011 from UConn school counseling.
