On Monday, October 23rd, Coach Larry Coker, members of the football team, and members of the women's crew and women's volleyball took part in the Annual Red Ribbon Ceremony in front of the Hecht Athletic Center.

The coaches and players honored the Athletic Department's stance on alcohol and drug prevention during National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and Red Ribbon Week by tying red ribbons along San Amaro Drive and throughout UM athletic facilities. Students from West Lab Elementary came over and Coach Coker spoke to them about the importnace of staying drug free and they joined us in tying ribbons to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week takes place once a year and it stresses the importance of educating our local community about the importance of staying drug free.
