CORAL GABLES, Fla. - As the summer comes to an end, the University of Miami rowing program released its 2012-13 schedule. The Hurricanes will compete in 10 events this upcoming season, highlighted by the ACC Championship which will be held on May, 12 in Clemson, S.C.
"We're all looking forward to the upcoming season," said head coach Andrew Carter. "We have some excellent racing opportunities this coming year and I think the team is ready for the challenge. Our young squad will have another year of experience under their belts and I know they love to compete so I know we're all just excited to get started."
This season the Canes will host three home events, starting with a scrimmage versus Barry University (Sept. 9). The first regular season home race will be against the University of Connecticut on March 23. The largest home event will take place from April 27-28 against the University of Central Florida, Southern Methodist University and Old Dominion University.
In addition to the three home events, UM will travel coast to coast from San Diego, Calif., to Boston, Mass., also making trips to Tennessee and South Carolina. Additionally, the Hurricanes will take a short trip up to Tampa, Fla., to compete in a scrimmage against Michigan.
The NCAA Championship will be held from May 30-June 2 in Mercer County, N.J.
