"Design a Hurricanes Pizza" Winner Selected

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- James Bianco was selected as the winner of Sir Pizza's "Design a Miami Hurricanes Pizza" contest, Sir Pizza CEO Rene Prats announced Friday.

"The 'C-A-N-E-S Pizza by J. Bianco' will be put on our menu for the 2012 school year," Prats said. "Congratulations to James from all of us at Sir Pizza. We support 'The U'! Go Canes!"

Bianco's design, a white pizza with broccoli, chicken and a mild buffalo sauce, was one of three finalists in the contest.

In a voting process conducted through the official Facebook and Twitter pages of both Sir Pizza and the Miami Hurricanes, Bianco beat out Sean Katz (pepperoni and pickles) and Alan Rangel (green peppers, onions, pepperoni and ranch) for the chance to have his recipe and name included in the company's online menu.

With his victory, Bianco also won two tickets to all remaining home games on the Miami Hurricanes' 2012 football schedule at Sun Life Stadium, along with a pizza party for up to ten people at the Sir Pizza location of his choice.
