Nicholas Searles joined the University of Miami as the assistant director of events in August 2012.
Searles came to Miami after two years as a game and event management graduate assistant at the Louisiana State University department of athletics, where he earned his master’s of science in kinesiology in May 2012. At LSU, Searles was tasked with the monthly scheduling of the athletics facility, creating game day guides for event staff and game management and operations for nine Tigers athletics teams. He also worked as a healthy lifestyles associate at the LSU recreation center where he assisted in the setup and production of major events.
Prior to his time in Baton Rouge, Searles assisted with facilities and game day management at Providence College in Rhode Island. While there, he worked home game and event operations for five Friar athletic teams, and hosted regional events such as the 2010 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament and the BIG EAST Field Hockey Championships. Searles has also worked the 2011 Bayou Country Superfest and the 2012 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
In May 2009, Searles graduated from West New England College in Springfield, Mass., with a bachelor’s of science in business administration and a concentration in sports management. As a student at WNEC, Searles worked as an event management assistant, a sports information assistant and a contest management assistant.
