CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - No. 23 Miami volleyball fell to North Carolina in three sets on Friday inside Carmichael Arena. The loss snaps the Canes' 10-match winning streak.
UNC won by the set scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-18 to split the season series with UM. Miami won in four sets on Oct. 7 at the Knight Sports Complex.
Miami (20-4, 12-2 ACC) was led by junior libero Ryan Shaffer with 12 digs in the back row. Sophomore outside hitter Savanah Leaf picked up eight kills on the offense, while middle blocker Alexis Mourning and Emani Sims each had six kills.
The Tar Heels (20-4, 11-3) hit .382 as a team to control the tempo of the match, also collecting 61 digs. UNC is now 11-0 at home this season.
