MBB Receiving Votes in National Polls
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – With a 12-3 overall record and 3-0 mark in the ACC, the University of Miami men’s basketball team has received votes in both the AP Top 25 and USA TODAY Coaches poll, which was released Monday. The Canes received nine votes in the AP Poll and eight in the USA TODAY Poll.

Miami joins two other Atlantic Coast Conference schools in both polls, including No. 3/3 Duke and No. 14/15 NC State.

The Canes received votes in the AP and USA TODAY polls to start the season, and were No. 24 in the Blue Ribbon Yearbook preseason Top 25 poll. Miami then received nine votes in the Nov. 12 AP Top 25. UM returned to the polls for three straight weeks in December, receiving seven votes in AP and five in USA TODAY on Dec. 3, then three votes in both the Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 AP polls.

Miami was listed on both the AP and USA TODAY preseason polls for the first time since the 2008-09 season, when Miami was ranked 17 and 16, respectively. During the 2005-06 season, Miami was receiving votes in both preseason polls, with 16 from the AP and six in the USA TODAY listing.

The January 23 @CanesHoops game vs. No. 1 Duke is rapidly approaching a sellout, as fewer than 1,000 tickets are still available. Visit for a real-time look at the number of tickets remaining.
