The Canes look to continue their momentum from Friday's dominant victory over UCF. Behind strong doubles play and five out of six singles wins, the Hurricanes coasted to a 6-1 victory over the Knights.
Henrique Tsukamoto set the tone for the Canes on Friday. The Miami sophomore teamed with Diego Soto to clinch the doubles point then quickly scored the first singles point for the Canes, drubbing his opponent, 6-1, 6-2. The Hurricanes went on to notch four more singles victories, including straight sets wins from Victor Mauz, Diego Soto and Gabriel Flores.
After a pair of tough opening week losses, the Owls have bounced back with two straight victories. Rice notched both of their spring season wins in a doubleheader, when they swept both Lamar University and Texas-Pan American, 7-0, on Jan. 27.
Miami and Rice last faced off in the 2011-2012 dual season, when the Canes traveled to Houston, Texas, and fell to the then-No. 38 Owls, 7-0.
