GREENSBORO, N.C. - Miami junior Diego Soto has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday.

Soto went 4-0 in singles and doubles play last week, with both his singles wins coming in straight sets, to help No. 60 Miami earn a pair of 6-1 victories over UCF and No. 50 Rice.

In Miami's home opener on Feb. 1, Soto and his partner Henrique Tsukamoto started the day with an 8-4 doubles win over Matthew Gladstone and Jorge Blasco at No. 3, before cruising to, 6-3, 6-3 straight set win over Blasco at the top singles slot.

Two days later, Soto was first off the court in the Hurricanes' 6-1 victory over No. 50 Rice on Feb. 3 with his 6-2, 6-1 defeat of Jonathan Chang at No. 1.

In doubles action, Soto and Tsukamoto clinched the first point of the day for the Hurricanes when they downed Leif Berger and Philipp Seifert, 8-7.

ACC men's tennis action resumes on Friday, Feb. 8.
