Williams Earns All-America Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Indoor season is over and Miami has another All-American.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that Samantha Williams is one of the 288 men and 266 women who have earned USTFCCCCA All-America honors for the 2013 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field season based on their performances at the Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Williams earned second team All-America honors in the women's triple jump. The senior recently competed in the NCAA Indoor Championships, placing ninth among 16 competitors with a mark of 42' 6.75".

The St. Andrew, Jamaica, native's final collegiate indoor season was a good one. Williams earned several Top 3 finishes, including wins at the VT Qualifer and the Auburn Invitational.

An All-American last season, Williams is looking forward to the start of outdoor season this weekend at the Hurricane Invitational. Williams and her teammates will host the event scheduled for Mar. 15-16 at Cobb Stadium on the University of Miami campus.
