CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After an illustrious career as a Hurricane, former University of Miami women’s basketball player Stefanie Yderstrom has earned a spot on the Swedish National Women’s Basketball Team that will be competing in the Eurobasket Women 2013.

Yderstrom, a four-year starter for the Canes, culminated her career with a first team All-ACC selection this past season and ended her career with 1,203 points – ranking 15th in program history. Her 228 career made 3-point field goals are the second-most in UM history.

The guard has been a member of various Swedish national teams since she was 15. She helped lead the U19 team to a silver medal at the 2007 World Championships and in the Eurobasket qualifiers in 2012.

The last time Sweden was at a Final Round was back in 1987, when they achieved their best-ever finish of seventh place. This is their fifth overall appearance.

The tournament will be held in France, runs June 15-30 and is made up of four groups. Sweden is in Group B along with Spain, Russia and Italy.
