CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team climbed to No. 46 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released Tuesday, while senior Omar Aly jumped to No. 70 as an individual.

The Hurricanes, who were No. 47 in last week’s poll, fell to No. 13 Duke and No. 9 North Carolina. Miami has downed three ranked ACC teams, including No. 52 Georgia Tech, No.18 Wake Forest and No. 31 NC State.

Aly is 13-4 this spring in singles with a 4-2 record against ACC competition. When facing North Carolina, Aly defeated then-No. 25 Ronnie Schnieder, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (9-7), in a third-set tiebreaker.

The Canes will make one final regular-season road swing this weekend at No. 12 Notre Dame and Boston College. Miami will finish its regular-season schedule April 19 at home against No. 28 Florida State.
