NEW YORK -- For a seven-catch, 145-yard performance in his team's 31-27 win over division rival Atlanta, New Orleans Saints' tight end Jimmy Graham was recognized with NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors Wednesday.
In his team's crucial victory, Graham became the first NFC tight end with at least 145 receiving yards, a 20.0+ yards per catch average and two touchdowns in a game since 1970. Since entering the NFL in 2010, Graham has 23 touchdowns, the most by a tight end in the conference during that time.
The Goldsboro, N.C. native now ranks fourth among all NFL tight ends with 533 yards, and third among all pass-catchers with seven touchdowns on the season.
Graham is the first tight end to win NFC Player of the Week Award since 2006. It was the first career honor for Graham and the fifth this season for ProCanes (Calais Campbell in Week Two, Reggie Wayne in Week Five, Antrel Rolle in Week Six, Olivier Vernon in Week Eight).
