CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Ryheem Lockley, an athlete from Saluda, Va., became the newest addition to the University of Miami football program's 17-member 2013 signing class Tuesday, inking his National Letter of Intent.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounds athletic speedster played on both sides of the ball for head coach Josh Franke at Middlesex High School. Lockley was rated a 3-star athlete by ESPN, 247Sports.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com. He ranked as the No. 55 athlete nationally by 247Sports.com.

Lockley finished his senior season with 1.034 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, while adding 598 receiving yards and eight scores. Defensively, he tallied 50 tackles with two sacks and one interception. His athleticism also translates well to the basketball court, as Lockley averages 30 points per game for the Middlesex High School basketball team.

Miami's 2013 signing class is ranked No. 17 in 247Sports.com's composite rankings and No. 21 by ESPN.

The Canes will kick off their spring practice schedule Sat., March 2 at the GreenTree Practice Fields.
