CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Stefanie Yderstrom became just the 23rd player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau, as the Miami Hurricanes dispatched the visiting Clemson Tigers 78-56 Thursday night at the BankUnited Center.

Yderstrom, who entered the contest averaging 19.0 points in the team's last three games, helped the Canes improve their record to 11-2 overall and 2-0 ACC.

Appropriately enough, fellow senior Morgan Stroman assisted on the layup that helped Yderstrom reach the milestone with 7:46 left in the second half. On her 18th and final point of the night, head coach Katie Meier immediately called timeout for Yderstrom to be recognized by the home crowd.

"It means a lot," Yderstrom said. "I thought it was pretty special that Stro had the assist for me there."

Stroman added 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists of her own, finishing 6-of-10 from the field and 8-of-11 from the free throw line.

"I'm really blessed to have these two on the team," Meier said. "I thought they were big-time performers tonight, almost like we couldn't have them off the court."

It was Stroman's first double-double since a Dec. 8 win over Davidson.

"I felt like I was long overdue," Stroman said. "Rebounding is something I do. Offensive rebounds and putbacks are something that I've been doing in all my years here."

With Stroman's help, the Hurricanes out-rebounded the Tigers 42-36, including a 15-7 edge on the offensive glass. Miami recorded 23 points off Clemson's 21 turnovers, including 17 fast-break points, to extend their winning streak.

Miami connected on 10 three-pointers on the night, including a career high-tying five from Yderstrom, to dispatch the visitors in the 22-point victory.

"We're comfortable at home, but I don't think we played particularly well tonight," Meier said. "I don't think we played with the same amount of energy we usually do play with at home."

With the win, the Hurricanes captured their 50th home victory in the last 51 tries.

"Obviously when you get a 22-point ACC win, you're thrilled," Meier said. "But we were in that locker room talking about things we need to fix and solve, and adjustments we need to make, which is why this team is one of the most special teams I've coached."

Even after joining Stroman in an elite scorers' club, Yderstrom was similar in her focus on the future after her team's fourth straight win.

"We have a long journey to go this year," Yderstrom said. "I'm just excited, ready to take on more ACC teams and score some more points."

The Hurricanes will face Virginia at the BankUnited Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. That game will be the first of the season to be televised, airing on the FoxSports family of networks and ESPN3.
