CLEMSON, S.C.  - Miami senior and South Carolina native Morgan Stroman wanted to play well in front of her family and friends in her homecoming.

The All-ACC candidate didn't disappoint as she led all players with 24 points and a career-high tying 16 rebounds, good for her team leading seventh double-double of the season. The Hurricanes pulled away late, moving to 16-7 and 7-5 in ACC play, on their way to the 62-46 win.

The Canes never trailed in the game, but Clemson (6-16, 2-9 ACC) closed the gap to two points early in the second half and then to within two possessions on Nyilah Jamison-Myers' jumper with 7:56 to play.

After a UM timeout, Keyona Hayes grabbed an offensive rebound and immediately scored on back-to-back possessions, pushing the Miami lead to eight. Stroman would score the next six points to put the game away.

Hayes joined Stroman in recording a double-double, her fourth of the season. The freshman scored 12 points to go with her 10 rebounds.

Stefanie Yderstrom connected on a pair of second half three-pointers and had three overall on her way to 13 points, her second straight game reaching double figures.

The Hurricanes opened the game on a 10-0 run, with eight of those points coming from Stroman. However, UM led by only four at the break, 28-24, despite Stroman's 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Clemson's Quinyotta Pettaway was the lone Tiger to reach double-figures, scoring 17 points to go with her 11 rebounds.

The Hurricanes welcome 19th-ranked and rival Florida State to the BankUnited Center on Sunday at 2 p.m. The game, a rematch from a Jan. 13 FSU victory will be televised on CSS.
